I am looking for 3–4 players for an open-ended campaign set in the Gundam Universal Century timeline!  we will use Owlbear About the Campaign: Timeline: Starting during the One Year War (OYW) and continuing for as long as the story takes us—until the squad either falls in battle or decides to retire. Player Choice Matters: Your starting faction, objectives, and assets will be dictated by the choices you make as a group. You have the power to change the course of UC history or become another victim of its tragedy. Sandbox & Dynamic Storytelling: This is a heavy sandbox campaign. I love building the world around player motivations and goals. Some sessions will be purely character-driven roleplay with little to no combat, while others will drop you straight into gritty, intense battlefields. Custom Art: As a GM bonus, I can provide custom sprite art for your custom Mobile Suits and potentially your characters! What I Ask from Players: Patience & Feedback: I am a first-time GM stepping over to the other side of the screen for my first full campaign (after running a couple of one-shots). I might make mistakes, but I am very open to constructive tips and feedback! Roleplay Focus: We are here to craft a compelling story together, not just min-max or go on kill streaks. If you want to shape the Universal Century, this is your chance.

Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)

The mists hide a world plundged into darkness for centuries. A dark lord has control of this cursed land. Those who are strong can escape the mists. Hello all, I am Michael.  I am starting a new campaign playing within the world of Ravenloft. This a gothic horror story that is traumatic and a fun time. This is a roleplay heavy campaign with intense combat encounters and plenty of chances for exploration. This is my third time running the campaign and I am excited to see what a new group of adventurers will make of this land.  This is good campaign to start your D&D journey as it starts at low levels and you learn as we play. So if you enjoy a fun and scary time at the virtual table then this is the game for you. Gothic Horror, High Fantasy, and Eldritch Horrors Level 1-10, with possibilities of higher levels depending on the game Go from ragtag adventurers. Unravel villain motivations, fend off living and undead threats that haunt the land, and confront one of the most famous villains. Strahd Von Zarovich. This campaign uses the best of the plot lines of Curse of Strahd: Reloded rounded out with additional materials, and characters backstories. To join this campaign, or if you're looking for other long-term adventures for D&D 5e campaigns to have a good time in. You can click the link below to get more details on my StartPlaying.games listing page: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmt2r70yp00e0l1048pnokkgl

What Hides in Mountain Stone

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Hello everyone, Alex here! I am a new GM on Start Playing, and I am looking for players for my mini campaign. I am hoping to become a full-time GM and figured this was the best way to start. A bit about me: I've been a GM for 7 years. I am an artist, illustrator, animator, voice actor, and writer. And I absolutely love roleplaying!  Game Premise: In the world of Anangnibi (pronounced Ah-nahng-nee-bee) there looms a threat to the local towns and villages outside of a major port city called Agonan Mizhakwad (pronounced Ah-goh-nahn Meez-hahk-wahd). Reports of attacks have become more frequent and many have claimed to see a flying creature up within the mountains. Maps indicate that there is an old fort that has been empty for quite some time in the area. The local authorities have put up a reward for heroes to go and investigate the area and find out what has been happening. You as the heroes will find yourselves walking into the mountains to find the old hold, and once you get there, you'll find out that you have gotten far more than you bargained for. Who, or what, awaits within the halls of old abandoned stone? And will you survive the secrets within? Or will you be claimed by death much the same as those of the poor raided villages? Death lurks here, cold and indifferent like the sitting stone. You will need your strength and wit if you want to survive. So be prepared to face the challenges and discover the mystery of what hides within the mountain stone. Game Price: $25 per person  Session count: 1-3 sessions Session length: 4-5 hours Player Character Level: 5 System: D&D 5E Sourcebooks accepted: PHB 14, XGE, TCE, VGM (Other sourcebooks are open to discussion) Homebrew and 3rd Party: Open to discussion More information and details about the game can be found here on the Start Playing post: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmt21mabu0037l404tjn7c32u?ref=cmrmikhi800frl704k6ca84nl  Content warning: While I am a newbie player friendly DM/GM, the game I am running is a DEADLY game with a DEADLY dungeon; your characters have a high chance of dying. Please keep that in mind for this game. If you are not okay with character death, this may not be the game for you.  If you have any additional questions, please feel free to message me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  You can also get some more general information about me as a GM, as well as read previous player reviews through my Start Playing GM Profile here:  https://startplaying.games/gm/alexthedmpanda Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Sunday +2 GMT, biweekly, 20$ per session Foundry + Discord Sign up on Startplaying HERE - You are part of secret government organization that deals with unnatural threats and protects the world from experiences you will need to live for the rest of your life. Conducting a Delta Green operation is like an immune system response; you must identify and destroy the infection before it kills the body. This campaign comprises of six operations for new and old Delta Green players that would like to face reality where lovecraftian monstrosities are more down to earth then you would think. You can join for all of them as one ongoing cycle or pick and choose which operations you would like to be part of - check "party notes" below to see which operation is currently played. • Reverberations: Reverb is back in Chicago. Users vanish, leaving wrecked rooms behind. Stop the source of this unnatural threat. • Viscid: A geneticist dies in Seattle. Unnatural "Blue Blood" is spreading. Confront a lethal conspiracy before it’s too late. • Music From a Darkened Room: 18 people died at 1206 Spooner Ave. An agent just joined them. Enter the house that is cold, alive, and hungry. • Extremophilia: A deputy dies of poisoning in Montana. Stop a contagious threat before you become its next vector. • The Star Chamber: Adjudicate a mission in Myanmar. Replay choices to find the truth: did they betray humanity to the Tcho-Tchos? • Observer Effect: A lab looked too deeply into reality. Isolate the staffers before a mindless chaos consumes our existence. Never played Delta Green? Don't worry - game is simple and you will pick up the system as we play! We will kick off with session zero to agree on table rules and expectations. Before joining be aware that this game is for mature players and will involve difficult moral decisions as well as might involve emotional roleplaying about human relations and their slow degradation. It is not a happy game about killing monsters. It is a game about consequences. This is an ongoing campaign. We finished Viscid and are looking for fresh blood to start Music From a Darkened Room.

The Throne of Solaris The golden spires of Hellios still catch the morning light, just as they have for a thousand years. The Sun Banner still flies above the Imperial Palace. The hymns of the Church of the Sun still rise from a hundred temples. Outwardly, the heart of the Solarian Empire beats as it always has. But the Sun-Blood no longer sits the throne. Emperor Aurelius, last living descendant of the Sun God in the direct line, lies silent in the Solar Chamber. Physicians, priests, and arcanists have come and gone. None can wake him. None can even name the strange lethargy that holds him. Until he recovers—or until the bloodline is secured—the empire cannot rule itself. The Imperial Council has therefore invoked the ancient right of Regency. Five names now stand before the empty throne, each backed by power, gold, steel, or faith: Edward, Duke of Gryphon — Master of the Merchants’ Guild and Head of the Librarium. Leontis, Viscount of Neolum — Son of the Archon and Grand Crusader of the Church of the Sun. Septimus, Prince of the Capital District — Captain of the Royal Guard. Stephan, Archduke of Ironheim — Master of the Forges and champion of the common folk. Zadakiel, Marquess of Fellgahv — Head Justiciary and Grand Master of the Order of the Black Wing Knights. Each claims the right to speak for the sleeping Emperor. Each has allies who would see their candidate elevated—and rivals who would see them fall. The court is a web of whispered deals, old grudges, and carefully measured smiles. Blood has not yet been spilled in the marble halls… but the air is thick with the promise of it. You are not the great lords. You are the ones who move between them: investigators, diplomats, agents, and observers with the skill—and the opportunity—to learn what others will not say aloud. The Council will not appoint a Regent in ignorance. Someone must cut through the intrigue, expose the truth behind each claim, and guide the choice toward stability rather than civil war. The sun still rises over Hellios. How long it continues to shine may depend on what you uncover in the shadows of its court.

"Sweetness" is an investigative game set in Tampa, Florida, about a Delta Green operation on the case of an attacked Bernier family — there was a fire and a symbol carved into the family's front door. The local police think it's a hate crime. The Delta Green thinks differently. You will play agents who are going to investigate an ordinary family with strange events happening around them. You have to conduct interviews, do legwork, do some research, do some surveillance, and try to figure out what information is important, and what things should stay mysterious forever. Intro to Terra If you’re coming from Faerûn, think of Terra as a vast continent that used to feel like one big, functioning empire. A tradition of feudalism, with noble "High Lord" houses ruling over their regions. All offering allegiance to a central authority, the most powerful noble house, Arista, and crowned it's leader as the First Lord. So the Legend Goes At the dawn of this world, the Gods watched our people struggle to survive in an unforgiving world - Early settlements decimated by violent storms. Explorers slaughtered by ferocious beasts. To have a chance at survival, these benevolent Gods gifted the lands with powerful spirits. And for the inhabitants, an ability to bond with these spirits. As these lands were conquered, creatures brought over were quickly surpassed by Humans, who found they could tame and even command these spirits. For thousands of years, these settlers fought and struggled to secure as much power for themselves as possible. Anarchy, chaos, and endless bloodshed, with the most vulnerable most at risk. It was not until those wielding the most powerful elemental magic banded together that law and order was able to form. Rather than fighting each other, they spread across the lands in a uniform effort to end the violence. Forming what are now known to be the High Lords of Terra. These High Lords rallied behind the most powerful among them, First Lord of House Arista. For generations, there was peace among the world. Humans across Terra in harmony with one another and their spirit blessings, working together to build great cities, sprawling farmlands, relying on each other for protection. The Civil War starts... Nearly one hundred years ago, tragedy struck when the First Lord passed away, leaving behind two sons with competing claims to the throne. The older son, born of an illegitimate affair with the High Lady of House Kalara, vied for the throne against his younger brother, son to the First Lord's wife. The conflict immediately turned bloody amongst the High Lords. On one side stood the loyalists, supporting House Arista and the rightful heir to the throne as appointed by the King's betrothed. On the other stood the would be usurping traditionalists, who sought to uphold the laws of succession. They rallied behind House Kalara. Now, a century later, the realm remains divided, locked in a never-ending struggle for power and dominance. The loyalist houses of Teos, Retosia, and Pytion stand firm in their support of House Arista, while the traditionalist houses of Sultern, Rhodes, and Toria remain steadfast in their allegiance to House Kalara. As the conflict rages on, the fate of the realm hangs in the balance. One thing is certain - It cannot survive another century of civil war. A Forgotten Evil Stirs... While the realm is torn apart by war, a new shadow rises. Mysterious disappearances reported near the uninhabited forest. Legend of an undisturbed kingdom made of wax in it's center. Ghost stories of an ancient evil laying dormant... now waking up. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello! Looking to stretch myself and finally start a new table with a homebrew I've been putting together for a few years. Looking for players that are in a similar timezone (PST). I'm also a parent, so would be looking for evening sessions after kiddos are asleep (~7pm PST). The world's lore is loosely inspired by Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series, mashed together with Faerun. Familiarity with source material is not required or expected at all. Lore will be provided on this world, and the unique elemental powers ALL characters will have access to... With this world, there will be some restrictions on the Player Characters. All playable characters at this time will be Humans. Most classes are workable, though the system really lends itself to Martials/Half-Casters. I would highly recommend using one of those. I'm not a major Rules Lawyer, big believer in Rule-of-Cool and being adaptable. Improvising and leaning into the roleplay is where the magic happens. There will challenging, purposeful combat but not a meat-grinder style of a campaign. Getting the right dynamic is very important to me, so will definitely be intentional. Would also love some diversity (both in character and out of character) at the table. If this sounds interesting, please reach back out! Would be happy to discuss further and share more info on the lore to make sure it's a good fit. Regardless, best of luck to you on finding the right table. :) Cheers, Windy

Weekdays only, a group decides on day & time Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Will be played in Discord voice chat, "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) My Discord (weebseatshit) *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's a Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures Some spells that affect game's balance & world, may be forbidden. It'll be discussed Instead of HP you have healthbars, & you don't know how big are your enemies healthbars Spells become cantrips I'll describe locations & looks with little to no details Just like with the books, i'd prefer that every player imagined their own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore) Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) These classes aren't allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Monk, Psion A tystling is similar to a cat Monochrome darkvision Enhanced senses: smell, hearing, vision, touch & balance Soft step: walking is almost noiseless (unless a tystling has something noisy on), running is slightly quieter comparing to other races A tystling is shorter than an elf, but taller than a dwarf A tystling is slim like an elf, but lighter than an elf, with smaller muscles. That makes a tystling even more agile & dexterous than an elf, but it's very hard for a tystling to lift or carry medium heavy things

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Greetings, scoundrels, thieves, rogues, and pirates. I'm running a short to medium length Pirate Borg campaign and looking for 1–2 more players to join the filthy ranks. You'll be thrown into a lethal sandbox in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, where war, undead horrors, occult forces, and general madness are dragging the world toward apocalypse. You won't be playing heroic do-gooders. You'll be desperate bastards with loaded pistols, questionable morals, and whatever ambitions you can keep alive long enough to pursue. There is no predetermined story you're expected to follow. Characters are randomly rolled, death is very much on the table, and what you do with the miserable life the dice give you is entirely up to you. Become a legendary pirate. Steal a ship. Hunt horrors for silver. Get filthy rich. Become an exotic undead drug kingpin. Start a war. Or simply try to survive the end of the world. I've already got three solid players, and we're setting sail next Monday. Sessions run weekly on Mondays at 7 PM PT for roughly 3–4 hours, using Foundry with Discord for voice. The crew is established and the game is happening, no weeks of session zeros or waiting around to get things off the ground. Pirate Borg is rules-light and easy to learn; no experience is required. Roll a character. Play next Monday. If you're interested, shoot me a DM with a little about yourself, why you want to join, and what you're hoping to get out of the game. We'll go from there. Bring rum. Bring powder. Bring a spare character.

No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I do ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. Emergency stuff, like if you get sick or something. I do care about my players! 1 Give me warning 24 hours before the game if you are gonna cancel. I need the time to tell the others and cancel the game if I don't have enough people to play. This is non negotiable! 2 Play well with others. If you are too disruptive, I will boot you after several warnings. 3 Take a different role each new campaign. Try new things! 4 You have to show up to play 75% of the time. If you cancel too many times, there's no point to having you in the group. 5 Sometimes you will be required to take a role you don't really want because the rest of the group made their picks already, this is meant to help the group have versatility. If this happens, the next campaign I will make sure you get first pick as to your role/class. 6 If you have to make sacrifices for the group, like blowing feats on item crafting etc, I will try to send good things your way. Teamwork is important. I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. This campaign is on Mondays at 6pm Central time Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Set in Chicago, I've added abilities to the NPCs to support their discipline powers, and set the whole timeline from Chicago 1 to 2 and beyond more gradually, changed who lives. Note that I have changed some of the clans a bit, like switched Gangrel(Sabbat) and City Gangrel (Camarilla), turned certain Brujah into True Brujah, a Ventrue into a Nosferatu, that sort of thing. Vampire has characters that are difficult to create without my assistance if you don't know how the numbers and discipline powers work (you distribute dots, there are no classes). However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. Note that I broke my campaign down in a timeline, it can be altered by PC actions, even down to the year and month.  VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed given PC choices. RIght now they are in late 1990 somewhere between Oct and December, you will get the PC's average xp to start with, along with a host of extra little benefits outside what the creation rules normally grant. You dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc. Its also a great way to get rid of problem NPCs. The Dark Fate flaw is reserved for anyone meeting their end during Gehenna, the end of the world. See, the Antediluvians rise, and they are hungry for their clan members.... That doesn't mean you can't play, you can still run other characters even after your main one croaks. Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel (Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce (must take the Dark Fate flaw), Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Milwaukee Sabbat), True Brujah. Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Daughter of Cacophony, Nagarajah, Salubri (Warrior and very Camarilla), Lamia.  Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor and a necromancer), Salubri (one Healer(an FBI agent), one Watcher (a homicide Chicago police detective), and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla). I have set up each pc to have fast growth, to have really good rolls for their disciplines right away. The party could use a member that has Vicissitude, Animalism, Celerity (this requires high Wits) as clan, or possibly Temporis, Thaumaturgy. Luckily there's a 5 point merit that allows anyone to buy clan xp rates, hint hint. You gotta also pay for mentor ratings since you need a teacher to increase your disciplines outside of Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. BTW, I made these 3 powers much easier to use, and less vitae expensive. If you pick from the obscure list, you can BUY up to 7th generation, but you blow 6 background dots to pull it off.  Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead, although good news for you that the Chicago ones are less than competent). If you don't know the clans, I can give you information but you will need the V20 core rulebook (learning the setting and abilities but not the disciplines), the dark ages core rulebook (mostly just for the super powers/disciplines), tome of secrets (all forms of vampire magic, even Obtenebration), and Erciyes Fragments (this will feature heavily in the campaign, its the Vampire bible of sorts including prophecies) books. Also a total of 20 d10's, basically two matched sets of 10 d10's, but the 2 sets cannot match each other. Preferably translucent dice, not solid. Chuck out any that have bubbles inside. Game always starts at 6pm central Mondays. The Guide to the Camarilla from the Revised edition might be handy, but not strictly necessary. Prince's Primer is nice for understanding elder vampires' mindset. They are very manipulative, and deceptive. This is a copy of an update I gave to a player that missed a session: Both Michael Payne Toreador and Son of the Malkavians are dead, and Jay found another body in the basement, this time of a dead boy, a formerly months old vampire Caitiff. His name was Neon, and Damien of the Brujah (one of 2 anarch leaders was caring/teaching for Neon) Damien will have to be told. Neon was chained via manacles to the basement floor in Son's Skokie residence, his throat ripped out and his face gnawed upon. Evidence was found that Son was blackmailing Horatio Ballard into insane and demeaning acts. You could get a major boon from Ballard using this, or use it against him in other ways. (the players gave this information to the Nosferatu, who now owe them big time)  Ballard apparently has been naughty. Michael accidentally killed Son, and Michael is dead thanks to the party knocking him into torpor, and the elders ending him. recall, Michael was suicidal, and homicidal after the party ended his ex wife. plus had a rep for being a thug who used to cause chaos your character Salubri Healer just rescued the young couple that Son was psychologically torturing, and you shot Michael (bashing damage, just reduced him to torpor) as he tried to use Ben the Cappadocian as a shield

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
**House Rhyle has vanished into the great dark.** Now the Emperor of the Known Universe has called upon your once Minor House, newly raised to Major House status, to take up their abandoned fief. You have enemies. You’ll soon have more. Raise your banner. Draw your sword. Muster every weapon of statecraft at your command and turn a hostile world into your own. But the seat of House Rhyle holds mysteries. Why did they leave? Where did they go? The Imperium claims they fled to Tupile, but is that the truth? And then there is the Scar: an astronomical anomaly that hangs in the dark of the system, a perfect circle of nothingness where something should be. What is it? How did it come to exist? Most importantly: is it a threat? Your House is new. Its future, and perhaps the future of the Imperium, is yours to shape.

We are currently looking for: 1 player for online sessions, and many more for Play by Post! 🩸Brussels is the capital of Europe. To the mortals, it’s a surreal maze. To the Camarilla, it’s a gilded cage. The year is 2016. Prince Vermeulen has wiped the court floor clean to make room for a fresh generation of neonates. You arrive in the City with a target on your back, drafted into a game you don’t yet understand. Here, your word carries weight, and your loyalty to the Camarilla is your only shield — for now. Beyond the polished marble of Elysium, older factions and darker mysteries are waiting. Every alliance has a price. Every secret is a weapon. Your actions will test your Humanity and shape the City. Your failures will shape your execution. How long will you navigate the corridors of power? Will you rise in the City of Wastrels or vanish from records and memories? Brussels is watching, and Brussels remembers. - Vampire: The Masquerade 5th edition. Mature audience, adults only. - Play by Post starts at 6.99 EUR/month via ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/hiddenson/tiers - Beginners welcome, LGBTQ+ and kink friendly.

Campaigned aimed at mature Players, but opened to all experience levels. Session Time: 8PM EDT/EST Monday System: Savage Worlds Adventure Platforms Used: Discord, Roll20 Price: $19 per session Travel the Continent ravaged by war and another conjunction of spheres. World needs heroes like never before, but really best it can hope for, are people trying their best in a shitty situation. If someone enjoys the Witcher games, books and probably not as much with the Netflix series that's the right address. I want to capture more role play heavy, character oriented style of this world. Somewhat on the darker side but in no ways devoid of dry humor and tinge of idealistic optimism. More detail under Campaign Link $10 referal for freshly joining Start Playing

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The galaxy is changing… and not for the better. The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived from beyond the known galaxy, bringing living ships, terrifying biotechnology, and a hatred of machines that has already left entire worlds in ruin. The New Republic is struggling to respond, the Jedi are stretched thin, and the hyperspace lanes are filled with refugees, rumors, and fear. In the middle of this chaos, you are part of a small crew trying to survive and make a difference. Maybe you’re Jedi trying to understand this strange new enemy. Maybe you’re soldiers fighting a desperate delaying action. Smugglers, scouts, diplomats, and survivors all have a place in a galaxy where the rules of war are rapidly changing. This campaign will focus heavily on roleplay, character choices, and the personal stories that unfold during a massive galactic war. Expect tense negotiations, dangerous missions behind enemy lines, moral dilemmas, and moments where your characters must decide what they’re willing to sacrifice to protect the galaxy. The Yuuzhan Vong are coming. Who will your character be when the galaxy needs heroes… or survivors? Looking for GM and Players.  Saturdays 10:00 AM GMT Does this day and time work for you, and can you reliably make the sessions? How old are you and how much RPG experience do you have? Do both you and your character work well in a team? Are you familiar with Saga Edition and do you have a copy of it? What is your character concept? Please answer all the questions to be considered.

[DnD 5e][Denton, TX] - DM looking for players for a Homebrew 5e campaign Hey there! I moved to Denton a couple months ago and I'm looking to get a small group together to hang out weekly, play D&D, grab drinks, or play boardgames together. Here's the plan: * **System:** D&D 5e * **Format:** We'll kick off with a short one-shot to get a feel for the group, then move into an ongoing homebrew campaign * **Schedule:** Fridays (starting this week) @ 6pm, Denton, TX biweekly campaign sessions, alternating with biweekly hangout nights (board games, drinks, whatever) so Fridays stay a standing thing either way * **Who:** Guys & gals welcome, never played before? Even better. I'm a newer DM myself, so no pressure to know the rules going in. Just looking to find some post-grad peeps who can commit to a weekly hangout. If that sounds like your kind of Friday, hit me up on here and/or Discord: Chashu293

Greek-myth campaign for Daggerheart

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
"Five years ago, a thousand ships answered Agamemnon's call and departed Greece to bring about Ilium's ruin. The greatest heroes, the mightiest weapons, and the most mythical stories are somewhere else.  You are among who remains.  I am Homer, and I will sing of you, amongst Other Names." Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody — paying homage to the Bronze Age, Greek tragedy and comedy, and classical myth — Echoes of Fate is a homebrew Campaign Frame for Daggerheart exploring lies and prophecies, the making of myths, and what it costs to break destiny. You are not the hero the epic was written for. No prophecy names you. No Muse has claimed your story...yet. So what do you make of a life the songs haven't told yet? If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. EU-friendly hours (evenings except weekends where I can do mornings or early afternoons) or US- friendly (late afternoons/early evening). Sessions can be weekly or bi-weekly through StartPlaying.com, at 20$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so.

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Looking for player interested in testing custom game system via narrative roleplay and learning the system itself. Grasianil: Custom D6-based system utilizing Maptool primarily, heavily stream-lined to support large, quick battles. Versatility allows vehicles, mechs, and spaceships, utilizing unique mechanics, in-addition to single players. Minimal delays owing to macros within Maptool, utilizing pop-up menus, automatic calculation of damage, debuffs, armor, etc. Highly adaptable, with streamlined rules offering as much complexity as is desired, and based on the setting. Developed by myself and my partner who passed away earlier this year. Supports several original fantasy and sci fi worlds of varying types, from traditional western high fantasy, to detailed low fantasy, from space opera-style sci fi, to more realistic settings. In-addition to original settings not listed here, it has been adapted to: Legend of Zelda Battletech Middle Earth Forgotten Realms Mystara Shadowrun and Cyberpunk Pre-existing settings are not played strictly-canon, but consistency is stressed. Medium amount of experience in RPing requested, as well as an open mind to learn a new system. Maptool 1.11.5 needed, Discord used primarily for all text but other programs are an option, Google sheets used for some settings. Time-zone of GM is US Central. RPing otherwise done via text on Discord, but other options open to discussion. Session date and time variable, any listed setting available, suggestions welcome, inquire in DMs to myself for further details. GM preference for folks interested in creating a story, rather than purely for the gaming. One-on-one only, at the moment. No cost. No absolute obligation. Reach out to natalie7995 on Discord, or via message/email for more information. When reaching out, please send a message via Groupfinder or over Discord.

No paid games
On a player profile - you are looking for free games and are not interested in paid ones.
I'm a game designer, and I'm looking for a group of great players to help me playtest the crap out of it. Anyone willing to playtest will get a free digital copy of Prosperon on the house. I was thinking of running sessions every other week on Saturdays, since I already run a podcast campaign weekly. If you're interested, sign up and let’s have a blast. To give you an idea of the gameplay style, it’s about 65% roleplay and 35% combat, though that really depends on the group’s dynamics. If you all want more combat, I can absolutely make that happen. The game is a cyberpunk/biopunk mix set in a dystopian society on a distant planet far from Earth. Humanity colonized a world called Khaelmora, later renamed Prosperon by the human settlers. If you're interested, let’s get those dice rolling and have a good time. I just wanted to add that I’m also looking to start a play‑by‑post group. I still want to run a VTT game, of course, but a play‑by‑post format could be fun too.

I am for the most part fairly introverted which this hobby has helped deal with, and while I may not do all the little funny voices (it’s a thing I’m working on) I’m a sucker for the Rule of Cool and a good story! And what better story then one you build together as a collaboration with other like minded individuals?! Outside of D&D my interests revolve heavily around music, movies, and other general nerd things

"They told us the ancient machines we dug out of the earth would protect us. They were wrong. The sky bled red, the earth shook, and in a single night, the kingdom fell. We don't know if the King survived, and we don't know where the Champions are. All we know is that the castle is wrapped in a shroud of red malice, and the monsters are coming. Weeks ago, Central Hyrule was a bustling kingdom; today, it is a graveyard of smoking stone and rogue mechanical stalkers that hunt anything that moves." The rumors flying between the survival camps are terrifying. They say the Chosen Hero fell defending the retreating forces. They say Princess Zelda is still alive inside the castle, holding back the purple storm with nothing but her bare hands and a fading prayer, but no one knows how long she can last. The prophecies failed, and the grand armies are gone. No legendary knight is coming to save your village. If Hyrule is going to survive the winter, it’s up to the people left standing—the blacksmiths, the scouts, the squires, and the outcasts. Grab your pack. Draw your steel. The smoke is rising on the horizon, and the howling of Bokoblins grows louder with every sunset. You have a rusty sword, a hunter's bow, or perhaps just the heavy hammer from your family forge. But you are still here, standing on the edge of the wild, and the world cannot wait for a miracle. Who will you become? When the Blood Moon rises, and the monsters knock at your door, will you fade into the mist, or will you stand and carve out a new legend? Hyrule is dying. Get on your feet, pack your rations, and look to the horizon. The world is yours to save. More information on Startplaying.

The Legend of Zelda - Ganon's Corruption

Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
It's a full millennium after the Hero of Courage ended Ganon's tyrannical occupation of Hyrule. Since then, the land has undergone a radical transformation. The Twili, once cursed to inhabit the Twilight Realm, have not only been liberated but have also become masters of cybermancy, weaving dark code and artificial magic. Moblins, expelled from Hyrule's borders, now inhabit the sprawling undercity of Moblin's Spire, a labyrinthine metropolis of scavenged tech and ragtag industry. The Kokiri and Rito have established high-speed aerotube trade routes, connecting Hyrule to the global network of city-states and corporate enclaves. Lynel clans, augmented with cybernetic enhancements, dominate the northwest's neon-lit sprawl. Amidst this era of unprecedented peace and prosperity under Queen Zelda CIX's wise rule, whispers of discontent have begun to circulate through the shadows. Corruption, inequality, and the unchecked power of megacorps have taken root. Rumors have surfaced of a mysterious, ancient AI, known only as "The Devourer," which has begun to infiltrate Hyrule's networks. Some claim it's a relic of Ganon's dark empire, while others believe it's a harbinger of something far more sinister. As the Queen's latest edicts spark widespread unrest, the fragile balance of power in Hyrule is about to be shattered. In the shadows, a dark presence stirs, its malevolent influence spreading like a stain. The wind carries the whispers of a forgotten name, a name that strikes fear into the hearts of all who hear it: Ganon... More information on Startplaying.

House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
The era of mortals is coming to a close. Time, once a flowing and vast fact of life, is being eaten away by a divine stasis known as The Fog. More than half of the planet and its people have been swallowed by it now, leaving a sparse few beacons of light in the ever growing darkness. Our story begins in the 11th month of the year 3046PS, roughly 60 years after the first sightings of The Fog, as one of the final refugee ships from the west dock in the port city of Punto de Partida. Snow falls upon our fated party as they’re engulfed by the anxious city and its people, having only themselves to fend for against a world nearly frozen. You, dear survivor, live while the timer of the end ticks down. What will you do in the final years of mortals? Will you spend them ignoring the inevitable and indulging in what little comforts are left, or will despair halt you even before stasis arrives? Or maybe you have hope of a miracle, be it from the gods or crafted by your own hands. Just how much, I wonder, would you be willing to lose to save the world? [This campaign is set to be a long-term, slowburn story focused on character development and roleplay. Much of its world, people and cultures are open for players to imagine and make their own, making it perfect for players who love world building and crafting intricate backstories. The story will cover many of the expected topics for a pre/mid apocalyptic setting, as well as heavy themes such as classism, genocide, xenophobia and racisim/speciesism. Other sensitive topics may be covered barring any content that players can choose to veto; my goal as a DM is to make an immersive and realistic world while showing utmost respect to my players while doing so.]

Survival horror, sci-fi  campaign based on the indie game "SIGNALIS" , played with  modified cp-red meccanics. [This table usses a slightly Faster PbP format , especially when It comes to in game conversations] ________________________________ You will find yourselves on the frozen moon of Rotfront, where the Hayades multi-function maintenance station has ceased communication with the outside world and things are taking a strange turn... all while a mysterious state of emergency is declared. In this campaign, you can choose from a wide range of roles based on the survival horror game "SIGNALIS"—a sci-fi communist dystopia featuring retrowave technology. Your characters can be either a Replika (a biomechanical construct based on a mental pattern) or a Gestalt—an ordinary and "free" Eusan citizen. GAMEPLAY: -Roleplay -Combat and scarce resources: Although most CP mechanics will be heavily overshadowed by resource scarcity, the campaign's survival horror mechanics ensure there is never a dull moment. This campaign may contain: gore, sexual/psychological themes, and—above all—cosmic horror; madness is not a matter of "if," but of "how much." (18+) The campaign's homebrew content includes: -Races and models (Gestalt, Replika) -Changes to cyberware compatibility -Addition of a new weapon type (carbine) -Buffs to automatic fire and SMGs; changes to certain rates of fire -Various exotic weapons -Buffs to certain cyberware -Bioresonance mechanics Billing: of course you will never be asked to pay to play or to continue playng, but donations are wellcome and help me keep putting all the effort i put on the games i run. Roleplay focused

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
This one's for the Magic the Gathering fans! The Phyrexian Invasion is a myth told at Strixhaven. World-enders conquering plane after plane? Please. Strixhaven is protected by Archaics, the Founder Dragons, and Jadzi the Oracle would absolutely foresee this coming. It's just Warforged from Ebberon causing havoc. You have bigger things to worry about. Like what you're going to present for your Final Project. It's Year 2 at Strixhaven. You've chosen your College and you're looking forward to a fun education. The Prismari Orchestra and Dance clubs will be hosting the Formal at the end of the year and your Final project needs to be started soon if you have any chance at passing this year. You've been recruited to Auxillary for your exemplary showing at Mage Tower last year so that's more work piled on the semester! This new Guest Lecturer, Professor Beleren, seems like an interesting teacher so maybe you'll take some extra lessons after classes? Year 2 at Strixhaven promises to be just as hectic, just as weird, and just as fun as Year 1. The Phyrexian Invasion can stay a scary story for the new batch of First Years. This years biggest threat is passing Advanced Foundations of Magic - Proprioception and Incantations in Stressful Situations. ---------- We are an older group in our 30s/40s looking for someone to join our newest campaign. 3M/1F in the group. Would love to add another female to balance the player dynamic. Expected to run from level 4 to 14-17 over the course of a year or so. I host at my house, using a VTT for maps and 3D minis for creatures/characters We rotate covering meal orders Seeking 1-2 players, especially those more familiar with MTG.

Your firm specializes in the underhanded tactics that win cases: tampering with evidence, threatening witnesses, corrupting juries, and delivering theatrical courtroom performances that would make any Silkshore actor jealous. Whether you're defending gangsters from Ironhook Prison, prosecuting high-profile criminals, or navigating inheritance disputes in the spectral Ghost Court, you'll use flashbacks, heists, and social manipulation to stack the deck in your favor before the magistrate bangs their gavel. Each session centers around a case, with the courtroom serving as your battleground. You'll roll engagement, present evidence (real or fabricated), cross-examine witnesses, and use competing clocks to determine who wins. Between arguments, you'll flash back to key moments: breaking into a records office, convincing a witness to change their testimony, or planting incriminating documents in your opponent's files. This game is perfect for players who enjoy social intrigue, creative problem-solving, and morally gray characters. If you like courtroom dramas, heist movies, and the dark Victorian aesthetic of Blades in the Dark, you'll feel right at home. We'll embrace the game's mechanics of flashbacks, devil's bargains, and collaborative worldbuilding to create memorable legal battles where the truth is whatever you can make the jury believe. Come prepared for sharp wit, dirty tricks, and the satisfaction of winning cases through cunning rather than justice.

The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
This campaign is a different take on the module of "Ghosts of the Saltmarsh." We will be playing through the adventures in the module with character driven storylines. This is a naval campaign that will be taking place in waters of Faerun. So your character should have some connection to islands or the water. This campaign will take you down the path of piracy, political mystique, and underwater discovery. A mix of heavy combat, mystery solving, and medium roleplay. Character interaction is encouraged, but full on voices are not required. High Seas, High Fantasy, and Eldritch Horrors Level 1-10, with possibilities of higher levels depending on the game Go from ragtag mercenaries to local heroes. Unravel political plots, fend off living and undead deep-sea threats, and confront eldritch cults. This campaign uses the best of the adventures in Ghosts of Saltmarsh rounded out with additional materials. To join this campaign, or if you're looking for other long-term adventures for D&D 5e campaigns to have a good time in. Hello! I'm looking for available players to join my existing group. It's hard to have sessions atm because of a lack of availability with players and the fact ppl keep joining age range for this campaign is 14-17, both experienced players ame beginners are welcome! Most campaigns in the group will be homebrews, so I'm always open to suggestions for the next campaign! We're still pretty early in the first campaign (only 3 sessions in) so i feel comfortable asking people to join. (There currently is no limit on how many can join). \----- Current campaign premise: You all have received golden tickets too this years Carnival. Because of this, a journalist named Aurora has hired you too do some investigation on the inner workings of the magical Carnival. Specifically, the sudden disappearance and replacement of the previous carnival master! Wether you actually investigate or just enjoy your time there is completely up too you, there are many secrets hidden away behind the spectacle of the carnival. something far more grand then a simple missing-persons case... \----- DNI IF: \*you are homophobic, transphohic, racist, etc. This group is extremely diverse in both sexuality and ethnicity so you won't have a good time, i can assure you. \*you're a map, pdf, etc. As i said this entire group is made of minors \*you're into things like incest/stepcest, proshipping/darkshipping, etc. Again you just won't have a good time as the group is against such things. \*over the age of 18+, just to keep things from having the chance of getting weird. I worked really hard on this campaign so please if you join put some effort in! This is my first time DMing so if you have tips/concerns I'm always open. Really anyone is allowed, just don't be "that guy" at the table. I want this group to be something long term so if that doesn't interest you this may not be the group for you. Thank you! Good day everyone, I am seeking some players for a Chronicles game based on a small fictional island in the UK. The Premise The game will be set in a remote and eccentric university in 1946 England, where the players will be attending. They will start the game as regular mortals and will be exposed to various oddities and strangeness on the isle, putting them in contact with various occult based groups. Eventually this may lead to the players learning magic in a system similar to WoD Sorcerers as they delve deeper into the magic and mysteries of the strange land they now study in. The Time There no specific time set for the game, but I am planning for it to be around 18:00 GMT on Tuesdays, weekly. I am however very open to working with my players to figure out a time that works for everyone. How to Contact If this post interests you please shoot me a message here or on Discord so we can chat and see if you’re a good fit for the game. Can’t wait to hear from you all :)

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The World of the Occult Underground awaits you - All you need is an idea for a person trying to navigate life in a city full of secrets, and who wants to change the world. -------------------------- Portland, Maine, is an old city with its eye on the future. It's a city of lighthouses, fishing boats, old brick streets, and hidden corners. Tourists see a charming coastal town. As someone who lives there, you see a little deeper. Beneath the restaurants, breweries, and waterfront shops lies another Portland—a city built from obsessions, impossible coincidences, dangerous secrets, and people willing to sacrifice everything for what they believe in, not just politically but metaphysically. Unknown Portland is a modern supernatural horror campaign using the Unknown Armies 3e TTRPG system. This is a game about putting your mark on the world, but not primarily about fighting monsters, unless injustice, TikTok, or something else you find intolerable about the world counts as a 'monster'. It's a game about discovery, obsession, and making a difference in a world filled with people who are determined to see it remain the same—or who seek to twist it to their own ends. The way forward is rarely clear, and it will be up to you to decide who you agree with, who you oppose, and what kind of future you're willing to fight for. One thing is certain: meaningful change always comes at a cost. What that cost is, and whether you're willing to pay it, are up to you... If you have the courage to step into the ring and make your voice heard. -------------------------- If You Join the Game, You Will Find: Character-Driven Stories Your relationships matter. Friends, lovers, family, rivals, and mentors are not background details—they are the heart of the story. Every connection can become a source of strength, heartbreak, inspiration, or danger. Found Family The people who stand beside you may become more important than the people who raised you. In a city full of secrets, trust is rare and precious. Meaningful Choices There are no perfect solutions. Every victory has consequences. Every sacrifice changes you. The decisions your character makes will leave lasting marks on the city and on the people around them, and even perhaps future games in the world. Mystery and Discovery The occult underground is hidden in plain sight. Every rumor may contain a fragment of truth. Every coincidence might be engineered. Every answer leads to deeper questions. Personal Horror The greatest threats are often the things people do to themselves. Ambition. Obsession. Love. Fear. The supernatural is terrifying, but human choices are what shape that horror. -------------------------- The game is run on Roll20 for tabletop and Discord for Audio/Video. It is streamed and recorded for posterity. Microphones are required, and cameras are encouraged. The game will deal with adult subject matter and may involve trauma. We maintain an open-door policy and are willing to discuss if certain topics hit too close to home. New players are welcome and preferred. We want to introduce you to the Occult Underground and prefer players who are unfamiliar but willing to learn and explore this world. The game is set in Portland, Maine, in 2022. All you need is an idea for a regular person who lives around Portland, Maine. Most PCs are in their mid-twenties, though older characters are certainly possible. -------------------------- This is a mature game focused on emotional storytelling, mystery, supernatural horror, and character development. Violence exists, but the story's focus is on people, relationships, choices, and consequences rather than combat. If you enjoy shows and stories like The Dresden Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Magicians, True Detective, The Sandman, or The Magnus Archives, you'll probably feel right at home.

Premise In the city of Archester, there has always been strange things hiding behind the mist of every corner in the city. However this time, the horror hides just by the outskirts of the city... an unsuspecting rundown motel that looks just like any of the other buildings in the outskirts that are unfortunately not important enough to be maintain by the City's governor or other major private developers. Legend has it that some of the guests that checked into the motel were never seen again... or stories of a cult living inside of the motel have also been heard... And the strangest thing is that just like any other rumour, this very motel seems to have been popping up at different corners of the city... ABOUT: This adventure takes place in the Sansinukob Wildspace. This system has 13 planets, held together by a dead and forgotten god at the center. There are no suns here, only moons to illuminate every planet. Fifty years ago, a monstrous sea serpent named Bakunawa awakened from her slumber, consumed by endless hunger. She consumed all six moons above planet Tawalisi, one by one, until they were left in darkness for thirty years. Twenty years ago, the datu, Maximo Catubig, invented Bulan Lights, magical lamps that emit artificial moonlight, finally bringing light back to his people. They were a solace, soon placed in every home in Tawalisi. The people were finally able to thrive again, and Maximo helped pave the way to further technological advancement. However, decades of darkness had taken its toll; Some of the citizens of Tawalisi have become consumed by the same hunger that possessed Bakunawa, mutating their bodies and destroying their minds until all they can think about is eating the Bulan Lights. They will stop at nothing to consume all sources of moonlight, and will hurt and kill anything and anyone that gets in the way. Datu Maximo has called for help from all adventurers willing to listen. Assist him in installing these lights wherever he can, so he can save his people from being plunged into darkness again. Since then, the shadows feel heavier. The silence in the woods lasts a little too long. And the stories you once dismissed as superstition no longer feel like stories at all. You are entering the Mythic North, a nineteenth-century Scandinavia where the old ways linger in the spaces modern life has yet to reach. Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
It is the post apocalyptic future of the world of RIFTS.  “300 years in the future, our shattered Earth is recovering from the Great Cataclysm.  An event that wiped out human civilization, brought about the return of magic and has Made Earth into something both familiar and alien.  Humans transform and augment their bodies with bionics, robot exoskeletons, psionic-inducing Brian implants, chemicals, and magic to survive.” “Tears in space and time — the Rifts — are doorways to anywhere.  Open one and step through it to travel anywhere on the planet in a matter of seconds.  Aliens and supernatural beings use them to travel across the Megaverse to arrive on Earth.  You are one of the champions, the heroes of mankind, or an explorer or truth-seeker who braves the savage wilderness and dares to face the demons, dragons, aliens, and weird creatures fro the Rifts.” Keven  Siembieda Hi, I am looking for players, new or experienced to play a campaign of Rifts in post-apocalypse Europe’s New German Republic, Gargoyle Empire, and surrounding area.  Ideally, 4-6 players would be great. I propose weekly Sunday, voice games starting at 4pm Pacific Time Zone (GMT -7, currently).  If the party wishes to begin earlier or later, I am a little bit flexible. We’ll begin with a session 0, to discuss the type of campaign we’d like to explore and create characters.  This is the original game that is similar to previous D20 systems, that was created in the early 90’s.  (This is not the Savage Worlds Version.)  I will be using the RIFTS Ultimate Edition and particular books, which will limit the available character classes.  Please read the listing for more information, feel free to post a question, or dm me. Welcome, travelers and adventures! We are searching for those who have been held against their will and done things they wish they hadn't for the hierarchy. We are searching for all those willing to begin the process and aid in any way you can. I can't give many specific plot details yet as we are looking to surprise our enemies and catch them off guard following their demise. We are an 18+ only group playing through discord using the rules from D&D 5e and 5.5e with good leniency with homebrew. We, as the DMs, like giving out powerful items, but power only comes from those willing to take risk for it. What will you do for power?  We tend to run small quests to enable our players to get better gear, take risks, and develop their characters. Everything you do will guide the story/campaign, even when adventuring in a non-essential quest. Team collaboration will be essential for your survival and the survival of others. We invite those who live in the US timezones and near (i.e. those in Canadian timezones outside of US are welcome) it helps with scheduling and reducing conflicts within our time. Unfortunately for those in other continents, like those in Europe, we are not partial to the time difference. This is an 18+ group and there are dark themes that can be triggering for certain people.  We hope to see you there and can't wait to begin adventuring!  DM ME FOR SERVER LINK

Moonsetter: A Project Moon D&D 5.5e Mini-Campaign

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
M Corp. Residing in District 13 of the City, and the pinnacle of mental and psychological care. Nowhere else will you find psychologists and therapists more qualified. Whether you're suffering from run-of-the-mill struggles, serious mental health conditions, or something more esoteric, you will find no better treatment than within one of M Corp's mental care institutions. …If you're well off, that is. The Backstreet slums of District 13, as is typical for all districts, doesn't get to taste the fruits of its parent corp's labour. Mental health services in the Backstreets are underfunded, neglected, and ineffective for dealing with the City's ails—with one exception. Moonsetter Clinic, founded by an ex-researcher of M Corp, seeks to bring the cutting edge of mental care to the people who most need it. Since its establishment three months ago, it has become a venerated, almost sacred institution to the Backstreets residents. Dozens of people each day walk into the complex, and walk out changed for the better. Even some of the Five Fingers have taken notice, and gone as far as to enforce it as neutral ground exempt from their bloody turf wars. It is a bona fide miracle. You don't buy it. Oh, you had your suspicions before: nothing that good ever graces the Backstreets without some strings attached. But there's also a personal reason behind your mistrust. You know someone—friend or family, colleague or simple acquaintance—who is a frequent patient of this place, and they recently went for their usual check-up. Maybe you even accompanied them to the lobby. It's been days, and they haven't returned. Your suspicion turned to surety. You quickly came across others who shared your experience, banded together, and decided. There is something rotten about Moonsetter Clinic, and you are all going to get to the bottom of it. Introduction Hi there! I am Nope (22, he/they). I hail from the far-off land of New Zealand, and I've been playing and running TTRPGs for close to 9 years now—mainly D&D 5e and 5.5e, but I've also dabbled in other systems like Pf2e and Lancer as well. I am also, as the title might indicate, a big Project Moon fan! This mini-campaign was made to combine two of the interests nearest to my heart, and is hopefully the start of a larger anthology of adventures set in the City. If you're not aware, Project Moon is a Korean indie game studio that creates games set in The City: a cyberpunk dystopia with fantasy elements. Life is cheap, violence is banal and commonplace, and corporation rule unchecked. In terms of vibes, think office workers in suits or streetwear fighting with store-bought swords and back-alley augmentation procedures, living paycheck to paycheck. Familiarity with this setting is not required for this mini-campaign; the plot will be pretty self-contained and won't make many references to the wider Project Moon canon. Details - System: D&D 5.5e, with some homebrew to adapt it to Project Moon's setting. The necessary homebrew is actually quite light (just 9ish pages) thanks to the City arguably borrowing more from high fantasy than conventional sci-fi in its worldbuilding; thus, the majority of translation is in reflavouring abilities and classes rather than bespoke custom rules. You can take a peek at the homebrew I plan to use here. - Level: Probably around 5-7, to be discussed with players during Session 0. Level-up is unlikely, given that this is a single adventure. - Time: Sunday 2pm fortnightly, GMT+12. Sessions will run from 3-4 hours. - Starting Date: My goal is to hold Session 0 sometime in early-mid October! - Length: 4-6 sessions, as a very rough estimate. More likely to be longer than shorter. - Players Needed: 4-5 - Platform: Foundry for VTT, Discord for communication Requirements - Age 18+ - Have a decent mic and a stable internet connection. - Have some decent experience with D&D 5e or 5.5e, or be willing to learn quickly. - Be willing to be earnestly invested in the campaign, and in each other's characters. - Be prompt and timely in showing up to sessions; give advance notice of a few days if you're not able to make it. - Don't be a bigot or an asshole. - No use of generative AI; I'm not a fan. Further Considerations - This is an LGBTQ+ friendly table! If you're not comfortable with that, go elsewhere. - The following topics will be covered: classism, mental health, medical malpractice, slight body horror. - The campaign will likely have a focus on combat and social interaction, with limited exploration. - This campaign is intended to be serious, but not misery porn! There will be ample space for jokes, light-hearted moments, and goofiness in general. - Combat difficulty will aim for 'challenging but fair'. I'm not interested in playing every encounter absolutely optimally; enemies will act based on their personalities, goals, and the current situation. As a DM, my priority is for combat to be fun and engaging, while still maintaining actual stakes—notably, this means non-zero chances of character death. - The setting of the campaign is not perfectly 1-to-1 with the Project Moon setting, due to D&D's mechanics and structure. The biggest divergence from canon is that magic as it works in D&D exists in the City and is well-understood and utilized as just one of many pathways to gain power, alongside technology, augmentations, and sheer competence. - Project Moon's stories are very character-focused, with emphasis on personal trauma, character growth, and facing your fears to achieve self-actualization. Include the word sun somewhere in your application. While the scope of this mini-campaign means there probably won't be much in the way of formative character arcs and development, I want to keep that focus on character-driven personal stories that Project Moon is known for. - My hope is to run this mini-campaign and others like it (some set in the City, some with their own bespoke settings) to build a community of like-minded players, with whom I hope to establish a long-term TTRPG gaming group! - I am technically a Project Moon larper LMAO (haven't played any of the games, got into it purely through watching playthroughs and wiki-diving) Applying If you want to apply, fill out this form! Once I gather enough respondents, I will shortlist a number of potential players and schedule interviews with them over voice call on Discord. After that, I will select 4-5 players to invite to a Session 0, and hopefully from there the campaign will begin!

Journey for the Azure Crown: An Epic D&D Adventure

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
The Azure Crown Tournament is the most prestigious and dangerous contest in all of Greyhawk, but before your party can even earn a place in the tournament, you'll need to make a name for yourselves. Explore the continent, delve into dungeons, take on dangerous contracts. Make allies and enemies. Build a reputation across Greyhawk and, eventually, prove that your party deserves to stand among the greatest adventurers in the realm. I'm currently putting together a brand-new group for a weekly, long-term D&D campaign, and I'm looking for up to 6 players. The Game • D&D 2024 / 5.5e • Weekly Thursdays • 7:00 PM AEST • ~3 hour sessions • Roll20 + Discord + D&D Beyond • $19.50 USD per session through StartPlaying • Session 0 is completely free • Beginner friendly • 18+ What to Expect This is a roleplay-heavy campaign set across Greyhawk, with plenty of exploration, mystery and combat along the way. I put a big emphasis on making your characters feel like they're actually part of the world. Your backstories, decisions, allies, enemies and ridiculous plans can all have lasting consequences. You can expect: • Character-driven storytelling and backstory integration • A world that reacts to your choices • Plenty of NPCs to befriend, antagonise, romance or accidentally ruin the lives of • Dynamic combat encounters rather than endless empty-room slugfests • High-quality maps, dynamic lighting, ambient music and other Roll20 goodies • A healthy dose of Rule of Cool • A welcoming table for both experienced and completely new players About Me Hey! I'm Cam. I've been playing D&D for around 5 years and DMing for about 3. Outside of running games, I make D&D videos as Rogue's Roll Call, so there's a chance you've seen one of my dumb D&D videos floating around TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. I've recently started running professional games through StartPlaying, where I currently have a full ongoing table playing this campaign. I'm now opening a new Thursday group for players who want to begin the adventure from the start. Session 0 is free, so you'll have a chance to create characters together and make sure the table feels right before paying for anything. Will your party become worthy of the Azure Crown? You can read the full campaign details and grab a seat here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmsx46pbd004hjj04adagpui6?ref=clhennefl000808mc9imebmog

A Deltarune-themed campaign The Roaring had come and gone. The light-world was ravaged by rivers of darkness bursting from the ground, ending the lives of many. Others, however... The new world of darkness granted the survivors, specifically the monster-type Lightners magic. Some have taken keenly to their certain types of magic, while others need more training... Humans, however...  You play as the heroes of a new prophecy. The original human, monster, and "prince." This time accompanied by the cloaked mage, and the blue tactictian. (Pre-made sheets of Kris, Susie, Ralsei, Noelle and Berdly.) Though the world is blanketed by darkness, light, as a force always exists... Pockets of light, dragging people far above have been appearing... It is up to the heroes to figure out the mystery behind them.

Playtest
The game is still being tested, and your feedback is part of the point.
Looking for players interested in playing in a heavily homebrewed AD&D 2e environment, based in the homebrew world of Avigard. This setting is entirely homebrew and involves a full redesign of classes, new classes, and the integration of a freeform magic system that fully replaces vancian magic.  We're currently in the phase of simply looking for players, and the goal is to find a time between 12 PM to 4 PM for playing on Sundays in a local game store or at someone's house if someone has the room for it. Despite being AD&D 2e the game will be run in a more roleplay oriented way. Though the world will be dangerous and it's worth weighing your options in risky situations, and combat is never a favored outcome, it will not be strictly deadly. I run with the 2e Bleed out rules and am generally happy to provide situations with healers if resurrection of characters are needed. I enjoy helping people make backstories and will happily figure one out, but with AD&D 2e backstories should be simpler than the usual 5e fare.

Known by all, loved by many, the most popular and respected Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate in the city's history, a legendary hero and adventurer of years past, Abdel Adrian, also know as Gorion's Ward, is about to give a speech at The Wide - the biggest plaza in the Upper City of Baldur's Gate often used as a marketplace. The occasion for the speech is the Returning Day - the most important Baldurian holiday when people celebrate the return of the famous sailor Balduran from Anchorôme to Faerûn, who brought unbelievable riches from his voyage back to his home village of Gray Harbor some 400 years ago and ordered the fortification of the village and building of the city walls around it, thus founding Baldur's Gate. You are among the spectators, the audience at The Wide, ready to witness the living legend. But something goes wrong. Terribly wrong... Starting from that day, you will be caught in the middle of a whirlwind of catastrophic events that would signify the beginning of the Second Sundering - the cataclysm that would later shape the Forgotten Realms as you know them. So it took me longer than expected but i am finally getting stuff together for my own campaign. Maps and minis and stuff. I would prefer to have players who can commit to regular play but i can easily work with absences due to the nature of the campaign. I am still looking for around 60/40 roleplay/combat.  I am willing to do a short one or two session adventure in my setting if people want to feel things out first. I intend to rent out the private room for sessions. I don't know if this matters to people but I have 0 desire to use AI in any of my campaign so if that matters to you there you go. A summary of the setting and what's going on as relayed by Arius, the figure with the bow in the images:  Long ago, when gods ruled the land, and men sailed the sea, when the earth trembled and the sky broke, a great beast rose up in the shadows, and cast the world into perpetual twilight. As the shadows grew long, horrible monsters rose from them. For many long years, the gods fought against this darkness, but they struggled. They cast their holy light upon the beast, but the brighter it burned, the darker the shadows became.  Finally, in the year 482 of the common era, Lifskona, the goddess of the sun, queen of the heavens, made a deal with the men of the sea. They would be allowed dominion over the land, in exchange for driving the beasts away, so that the gods could direct their power towards their true foe. Man would be blessed with great magic to aid in this war.  Their attention no longer divided, the gods soon succeeded in binding their foe, and banishing him from the mortal realm, ending the long twilight. It was not so easy for man. Even with their new power, the tribes of the sea struggled to gain ground against the monsters we call the Drak.  What the gods percieved as a short conflict was a multigenerational war of attrition. Neither side gained ground and the fields of Flodlan ran red with blood.  It seemed the violence would never end. Many considered returning to the sea, and a happier world. It was only 20 years ago that the Namea appeared from the south to lend us their aid. Mysterious and wise, they turned the tide at the brink of defeat, and together with the men of the sea, pushed the Drak west into the desert.  Ram Anu, our king and the man who led us in that final push, rode back different. Nobody who rode with him will speak of what occurred.  6 years ago, the king rode out again, to end the Drak menace once and for all. He has never returned.  If that piques your interest, let me know. I know i've posted about this twice now. It's just taken a while to get things going.

Join my new campaign/ already play-tested*** Welcome to Oregon State University, 1995. Home of the Beavers, Hard study, Parties, late-night pizza… and the occasional creature stalking the dorm hallways at 3 a.m. At first the strange events seem isolated — a missing tutor, fresh food turning rotten overnight, an attack in the science block car park, and rumours of something moving through the forests at night. But the deeper you investigate, the clearer it becomes: Something ancient is stirring beneath Corvallis and whisper in the dark speak of a rising Cult. You didn’t ask to become monster hunters — but you have seen beyond the mortal veil that protects society’s mind. Someone has to uncover the truth before the town is swallowed by whatever is crawling out of the shadows. And right now, you’re the only ones who believe the danger is real. The truth is out there-if you are brave enough to find it. What to Expect in This Game In this campaign, you will play students or faculty uncovering supernatural mysteries around **Oregon State University and the surrounding town of Corvallis. Each mystery will lead you deeper into a hidden world of strange events, forgotten folklore, and supernatural forces that most people refuse to believe exist. Players will: • Investigate strange disappearances and unexplained events • Explore eerie locations across campus and the surrounding forests • Interview witnesses and follow unsettling clues • Confront monsters and supernatural threats • Slowly uncover a much larger mystery hidden within the town Every investigation reveals another piece of the truth — and the deeper you dig, the more dangerous that truth becomes. Seeking at least 2 players for long term campaign: if interested respond here, or add me via discord: darksc2. Easier to message me through Reddit though. Story synopsis [undead themed] Pheanulon the Undying Empire: The Six Realms of Rane are in an Age of Prosperity, as they are rebuilding their strength after the last Calamity left them greatly weakened. As opposed to them, the Edrepis Dynasty of Verera was able to keep most of their strength and therefore was able to unify their continent under their Faith But the finer details of these Grand Stories are too much for now, you were interested in a flier of a Trading Companies job posting about excavating a rediscovered tomb that paid very well. So you made your way to their company from all different corners of the world; some people arrived earlier than you and were able to complete the job where they found clues of the past Undead Calamity known as "The Dark Tide" coming back to the world. For that reason, they quickly left for their next job for not only more clues but also personal goals, not believing them or wanting to support this group in their endeavour you decide to head off after them session time and requirements: Saturday at 6pm cst which goes for a time period of 3-4 hours. Need discord and foundry browser. Please if applying come with a character concept and idea. Player preference on roleplayers but the campaign is split roughly 60/40 between roleplay and combat. DM is German and English is his second language so if that is a deal breaker maybe rethink it. system and rules used: free archetype/ancestral paragon are rules implemented into the game. Banned creation choices: Classes: Exemplar Races: Samsaran, Wayang, Jotunborn, Vishkanya Yaksha Heritages: Ancient Elf, Ancient-Blooded Dwarf

Very interested in getting together a group to play cyberpunk, shadowrun, lancer, or perhaps starfinder. Any edition of any of these is fine with me, just looking for some good old dark sci fi gaming. I'd rather not gm but if push comes to shove I could be persuaded. I've been playing 5e for about 4 years and have only one session experience with lancer and with cyberpunk red, but I'm down for something crunchy and tactical. Hit me up :)

Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home. With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people. So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him.
