The Rpg Gazette

Overview

Hi, there! Welcome to The RPG Gazette, I hope you made yourself cozy! We are Yuno & Șerban, the co-founders of this project. We came up with this idea after perhaps too many early sangrias on some Spanish beach close to two years ago, when we decided that we want to do more for promoting and nurturing the broader TTRPG community. Thus, we decided we will not write that much about D&D, instead focusing on showcasing other TTRPGs, through reviews, news and essays, some of them structured more like opinion pieces and some of them more academic in nature.

Virtual tabletop (VTT)

Narrantium is a browser-based virtual tabletop built around the story rather than grids and tokens: the DM assembles branching scenes, maps, NPCs, music and combat encounters into a playable adventure using a visual quest builder, then runs it live. Players join the session from any browser with an invite link — no account, no install — so it works for remote tables and in person too, with the Player Screen cast to a TV. System-agnostic with solid D&D 5e support; only the DM needs a subscription, players always play free, and there's a free plan.

Mage: The Ascension

TTRPG
English
Complex
Mage: The Ascension is a modern-day supernatural roleplaying game created by Stewart Wieck and a team of designers at White Wolf Publishing, first released in 1993 as the third of White Wolf's original World of Darkness game lines, following Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. It went through a second edition in 1995 and a Revised Edition in 2000, largely overseen by Phil Brucato, before Onyx Path Publishing released the 20th Anniversary Edition in 2015, the version most tables run today. Where Vampire is about hunger and Werewolf is about rage, Mage is about belief: player characters are ordinary people who have Awakened to the understanding that reality itself is negotiable, and the game is built entirely around the consequences of acting on that understanding.
