Wretched is an Old School Renaissance (OSR) style role-playing game designed to play anti-hero characters in a cinematic setting. Unlike traditional heroes who follow society's moral codes, anti-heroes are complex characters whose actions challenge accepted norms.  Your character might be morally ambiguous or outright unethical, but that doesn't necessarily make him a villain. In fact, you may still enjoy extraordinary adventures and even help others along the way. Expect to engage in criminal activities and display contempt for others' rights and well-being, but don't be surprised if your character manages to save the day despite his shortcomings.
