Description

Howdy, partner! There’s one empty saddle at our campfire, and we’re lookin’ for a brave soul to ride into the strange and haunted frontier with us. If you’ve got the grit to stare into the unknown without immediately skedaddlin’, then hitch your horse and keep on readin’. System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Setting: Down Darker Trails (Wild West) Platform: Owlbear Rodeo + Discord Voice Time: Sundays at 6:00 PM CDT Age Requirement: 18+ What to Expect: This is an Old West meets Cosmic Horror campaign using Down Darker Trails. Expect dusty frontier towns, lonely trails, forgotten mines, strange disappearances, and eldritch mysteries. Roleplay, investigation, mystery-solving, and character interaction take center stage, while combat is dangerous enough that sometimes the smartest thing you can do is beat feet. The first session will be a dedicated Session 0. We’ll spend the evening:
  • Creating investigators together.
  • Introducing ourselves as players.
  • Introducing our investigators.
  • Going over the Down Darker Trails setting and campaign expectations.
  • Making connections between characters before the adventure begins.
  • No prior knowledge of the setting is required.
We’re a friendly, LGBTQ+ inclusive table that enjoys telling a compelling story together. Our current group consists of two trans women, one bisexual man, one non-binary player, and one straight cis man. While everyone is welcome to apply, we’d especially love to hear from cis women to help round out the group’s current makeup. Our sessions are recorded and uploaded to YouTube as part of our playcast, High Tides and Tall Tales. We’re still getting off the ground, so this is very much a passion project rather than a commercial one. Nobody is expected to be a professional entertainer. We’re simply a group of friends who enjoy telling stories together and sharing them with others. A face cam is not required. We intentionally keep the focus on the investigators and the story rather than the players behind them. The only requirement is that you’re comfortable having your voice recorded for YouTube. We also commission artwork throughout the campaign, so you’ll get to see your investigator brought to life as the story unfolds. We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Reliable and able to attend regularly.
  • Respectful and welcoming to everyone at the table.
  • Interested in collaborative storytelling.
  • Comfortable sharing the spotlight and helping others shine.
Whether you’re a seasoned investigator or completely new to Call of Cthulhu, you’re welcome to throw your hat in the ring. If this sounds like your kind of trail, send me a DM, don’t reply to this post. Any applications left in the comments will be ignored. Consider it your first clue that paying attention to the details matters around these parts. Please include:
  • Your age.
  • Your experience with Call of Cthulhu or other TTRPGs.
  • What you enjoy most in tabletop RPGs.
  • Confirmation that you’re comfortable with your voice being recorded for YouTube.
  • Anything else you’d like me to know.
So dust off your boots, check your revolver, and don’t linger after sundown. Some things out on the prairie ain’t natural. Hope to hear from you soon, partner. (I'm posting this from Reddit so, if it resembles lfg format you know why lol.)

We're presently looking for new players.  We've been running gaming sessions at a historic pub in Nottingham for the last 10 years. Right now, we're about halfway through a masks of nyarlathotep campaign.  If gaming, beer, insanity and cosmic horror that man was not meant to wot of are your thing, we have exactly what you need. Oh, and beer.

Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)
