Description

Quick Info: LGBTQ+ friendly. POC friendly. (Seriously, want more poc/women/queer/etc players! Not only white men!) Capitalist unfriendly. No bigotry. No sexual violence. 25+ only. 30+ preferred. Hope to play every other week. Looking to start up in a couple months, after getting a group and some backstories going. System: MSH/Advanced FASERIP with homebrew. Points Buy character creation. Some powers disallowed. Interest Form: Log in to view Session Structure: Sessions – Get into a fight, foil a villain’s plot, a smattering of interpersonal drama. The meat and potatoes. This is when you punch a living bulldozer through a building. In-Between sessions – Play by post to forward more of the interpersonal stories, background stories, investigations, and other plot threads not covered in sessions. Feel free to engage with this as much or as little as you wish. Will begin with one-shots. Over time plot threads will naturally weave themselves in and out, forming stories, similar to how comics of the era were written. Heroes may encounter people and situations from their past. Villains may return for revenge, group together for more dangerous plans, etc. Setting: The year is 1984, as envisioned by the 1960s. Technology is retro-futuristic. Many modern devices do not exist. Many older devices exist in more advanced fashions. The internet is for hacker nerds and government organizations. Cell phones are not available. Pay phones are widely available, and are generally video phones. Young adults/teenagers lean towards being hipsters, beatniks, freakers, hippies. There are still a good amount of squares. Middle aged + are mostly squares. The elderly are Great War vets. Cities and countries are all fictional, though based on real world places. The colonization of the West was far less brutal and ugly. There is still a Cold War with Communist powers. The police force does not exist. Instead, they are replaced by Safety Officers; Trained for de-escalation. Not particularly inclined to violence. They still have a Detective Bureau, Riot Squad, and small Mech Squad. Guns that shoot bullets were banned after the Great War. Instead, stun pistols are common. Knock people out and leave them with a groggy headache. Murders still happen, through other methods. There are still obvious rich/poor social divides, but racism/sexism/homophobia/etc is not nearly as prevalent. The one exception is mutants. Society shuns mutated humans to varying degrees. Inspiration: ‘60s Doom Patrol. Morrison Doom Patrol / Animal Man. ‘70s Defenders. ‘80s Suicide Squad. Power Man & Iron Fist. Copra. The Jam. Madman. The Maxx. Venture Bros season 6. Goofy hold overs from the Silver Age meets a newfangled “gritty realism.” Morals are becoming more grey. Tongue-in-cheek play meets serious characters. Characters: C-List street-level supers in a mid-sized city. Dramatic personal lives. Classic costumes. You come up with your basic character concept, and we will work together to flesh it out and fit the character into the world. Details will be broad at first, with more specifics emerging during the course of the game. Examples: Techno-barbarian from a Kirby-stlyed future fantasy world after the fall and rebirth of man. Reincarnated Moon Princess from the dead ancient culture on the moon. Famous b-movie actor/model turned super spy and master of disguise. Unhoused person who fell asleep in the wrong alley. Celebrity fitness instructor and motivational speaker.

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Hello hello! I am Matthew. I am a new DM building a homebrew world, and I want your help filling in its history. Before my main campaign begins, I am running a series of one-shots set in "Year 0". This is when an apocalyptic cataclysm nearly ends the world. The future campaign will be set centuries afterward. When? I run my business from home and have a family, so M-F during the day works best. These one-shots will take place Tuesday through Thursday, between 9:00am and 2:00pm Central time (chicago area). If you work from home, work nights, or live in a time zone where this is your evening, this table is for you! What is it? You will play low- to mid-level heroes surviving the chaos of a larger conflict. You might be pulling off a desperate heist for a magical artifact, escorting refugees to safety, or holding the line against impossible odds. All of this happens under the shadow of the First King, whose mysterious sacrifice during this era saved the realm but cursed his bloodline forever. Legacy? Yup If you survive, I have a "Fortune & Fate" roll planned to help determine your character's epilogue. Though you will have plenty of creative control over their outcomes. Survive or not - your characters will become the myths, ancestors, and founders in the larger campaign!

D&D 3.5e Overhaul/Homebrew

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)
