Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

Looking for a Hellbreakers/Destiny group

Shot in the dark, been looking for a more action focused AP to be part of. Since I never got any messages from player posting, I am trying to make the group and see if people join together for it. Heard hellbreaker and hell destiny were fun adventures, though others like a conversion of WotR, Kingmaker or other ones could work too. Regarding time, TBD but likely evening in week days (7:30pm or so) or maybe during the day on saturdays. Could band together to pay the foundry modules (if one is needed) to the GM. AI use forbidden at the table.

Schedule Sessions run Fridays from 5pm to 11pm CST over Discord VC, with most sessions landing somewhere in the 3 to 4 hour range. There's no official start date yet since I want to take the time to find the right players first. This is meant to be a long-term campaign. System The game is built primarily on 2014 rules, with 2024 rules pulled in wherever they're cleaner or simply work better. Everyone plays the homebrew Martial Artist class, which sounds restrictive at first but actually gives a lot of room to build the character you want. Combat, rolls, and character sheets all run through Roll20. The homebrew module can be found here. Tone The story starts out grounded, much like early Dragon Ball, and slowly builds toward the higher stakes of DBZ as the campaign progresses. There will even come a point where the players will leave Earth itself possibly.... Setting The campaign takes place on Earth in the year 1000, right as the 100th World Martial Arts Tournament arrives. It's centuries after the era of the Z-Fighters, but their influence still echoes through the universes. Vegeta and Trunks visit the Saiyans in Universe 6. Defending Planet Sadala from Champa and brings the planet to Universe 7, in doing so, reviving a more heroic version of the Saiyan race. Say Goku on the last question in the application to prove you've read this much. Goku and Vegteta at their absolute peak finally end Frieza's empire of terror. Ending it has the side effects of not only freeing previously dominated planets but with the new vacuum of power an age of space piracy has begun leading to an ever increasing need for newer and stronger heroes. What I'm looking for Ideally, experienced players within both D&D 5e and RP, from a NA timezone, and at least 18 and up in age. If you're not as experienced in the system but really like Dragon Ball and really want to play then I'm willing to work with you and make sure you don't fall behind. If this sounds like your kind of game, you can apply here, and I'll reach out on Discord to set up a short VC interview. Looking forward to reading your applications! Also if the hyper links don't work please let me know!

The City never sleeps, and as a Moonlighter, niether will you! MOONLIGHTERS is a high-stakes Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in a fantastical version of the modern day. The players take the role of Moonlighters - part time adventurers who operate after dark. Are you a college dropout Elf? A pixie attorney specialising in Magic Item law? A gnome taxi driver? Whatever your reason, while the city sleeps, you Adventure! Players will form an Adventuring Party, working the Adventuring gig economy in the Big City. They'll choose from available jobs, meet wacky clients, and co-operatively worldbuild and expand on the city with the DM in the process. Will you stage an elaborate heist at the Museum of Villainy? Fix a Wizard Duel for a down-and-out gambler? Explore the forgotten catacombs of the public graveyard? It's up to you! More here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmq7tyim4007bjs04bh2hluyy?q=moonlighters  Each of the player characters will have a day job, which will be narratively incorporated into the story. If your single dad Orc is an accountant by day. maybe they'll notice some irregularities in the companies magical accounts. If they're an exhausted sound technician for a bratty DJ, maybe they'll have some connections to the shadier side of the city. During a Session 0, we will all discuss the general tone of the game the players are in the mood for. Player characters could all be friends fresh out of college, living out a coming-of-age Jon Hughes movie (with oozes and werewolves), a group of reluctant oddballs flung together in a workplace comedy, or desperate individuals just trying to make ends meet in a brutal, unforgiving city. The choice will be communal, and can always evolve with the narrative. I will discuss privately what each player wants to see, and what they never want to see in game. I'll make sure everyone is on the same page without drawing attention to any individual player's needs. The games is $20 per session via Startplaying. Alternatively, you can message me if you would rather pay another way.

Hi, hello, I am Bo, looking for reliable and interested players for my homebrew world for DND 5e (2014). Just a little info for what I am looking, as I said above, interested and reliable players as I've had quite a few people lately say they are interested but flake out when I get them into the server before we start. Would love to have experienced players but I don't mind new players who are willing to learn and listen, also I'm so not heavy with the rules, sometimes I won't even make my players roll for some skills. Please be over 20, at least, I'm almost 31 and I just want to play with folks closer to my age. Would love to play with fem and/or queer players, as I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community. This will be a live text game, session time should be around 3 to 4 hours, if you're not familiar with live text games, it's basically synchronized play, we sit down and text, the same as whatever you would say in character you just describe in text. Days should be either Fridays or Sundays after 8pm in central european timezone or gmt+2. Additional Info: - again, this is a live text game - free to play - use whatever you are comfortable with to make your sheets (starting at level 2) - homebrew is fine just run it by me first to see if it would fit the setting as this is a homebrew world and not everything is created, so i welcome people who would be down to worldbuild a little if needed - general rule: don't be an ass, don't be a bigot, be a team player, also just keep in mind that i'm from Europe so the timey wimey zone are very much a thing and a big difference is a little awkward ngl when i'm trying to message folks about their character and i gotta wait like like 12+ hours for a reply - i love to yap, talk about the world, the lore, love sharing some vague spoilers - there are multiple pinterest boards and maps Brief Synopsis: The Wastes, part of the world that was devastated by a magical anomaly a century or so ago, is now slowly recovering its sandy and rocky regions into a more liveable space. People have adapted over this time to the harsh winds and terrains, populated places are still standing strong and the Elven King has finally decided to take matter into his hands and help. (The setting is slightly inspired by certain sandy and rocky locations from Dragon Age Inquisition, a bit of wild west-y with magic, a blight that made those lands almost inhabitable but determination of people to continue living despite the hardships because this will always be their home.) You have decided to join in an elite group called Solars, be it to be a mercenary for them or to learn more about magic, your reasons being your own (aka we will discuss it via backstory of course). They are legendary warriors/bodyguards from the ages passed but the tradition has been kept up and they moved to the Wastes to help the people survive. There are many of them, many subgroups, each with a Godly patron, even though those Gods are not as active as they used to be. In the same sense religions lives through the people. (your character doesn't have to be religious to join in)   You'll start with an assignment that leads you to an accident that has occured, (meaning the characters would know of each other, so they are at least aware or acquainted) and this will be like a little mini campaign, to get a feel for the group's dynamics, so the players can do the same, see if the interest stays, stuff like that. Then if everything, hopefully, works out we'll transition to play the actual campaign, which will have your characters officially become Solars (subgroup name) and from there something would've happened that will cause the players to wake up at an unknown place with 6 months memory gap, no this isn't spoilers but basically a warning, heh. And then we start from there for real, discovering what the hell has happened to you all. if you've read this sneak in the world polar in your message So, let's throw in some buzzwords and works I was inspired by: knights or knightly beliefs (Solars), Dragon Age, Witcher, so a bit high fantasy with some grittiness and dark moments, folklore myths and beings, people long lost and their heritage being rediscovered, Dishonored for that feeling of being observed by an outside force, aasimars with wings, found families, betrayal and double agents (?), cults (?), history being written to suit the victors, undead roaming the Wastes so some zombie elements, intrigue and some scheming and politicing, roleplay over combat so it's like 70 ish to 30 ish for that, and lastly, I love using backstories to sprinkle in throughout the game but also be aware that we can't do something largely different than what I wrote in here, try to sort of match the vibes, I love working with folks on creating the best experience for everyone. That's it I think, message me on here and we'll talk further :)

The Arcane Library
Shadowdark RPG is a modern masterpiece of old school fantasy tabletop gaming, created by Kelsey Dionne and published by The Arcane Library in 2023. It blends the lethal, dungeon crawling spirit of the Old School Renaissance with streamlined, modernized mechanics inspired by the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Description In Shadowdark, players are adventurers delving into tombs and ancient underground cities in search of gold and glory. The game is highly lethal, emphasizing player skill, resource management and creative problem solving over character sheet abilities. The dark is a physical, terrifying presence and making sure keeping the light on, is beyond vital to survival. System Overview & Key Features Real Time Torches Torches last exactly one hour of real time. The Game Master sets a physical timer at the table. When the timer runs out, the light goes out, and the characters are plunged into total darkness where deadly monsters thrive. Familiar d20 Mechanics The core system uses a standard 20 sided die (d20) with advantage and disadvantage, making it incredibly easy for modern players to pick up. However, modifiers are kept extremely low to maintain a grounded feel. Randomized Character Growth Instead of picking from a massive list of feats or skills when leveling up, players roll a random talent on their class table. This speeds up character creation and forces players to adapt to the unique strengths of their adventurer. Slot Based Inventory Encumbrance is simple and strict. Characters have a number of inventory slots equal to their Strength score or a minimum of ten. Every item, from a sword to a torch, takes up exactly one slot, making resource management important.
